City appeal Kompany’s red card from derby FA Cup match
In what ended being a pretty nail-biting finish for both sides, there were plenty of tough decisions referee Chris Foy had to make in the Manchester derby FA Cup clash on Sunday. Fans from both sides will argue that there should have been at least one extra penalty each following some lenience (or possibly ignorance?) from Foy. However, there is one decision in particular that is sure to have irked many of the blues’ fans: the sending off of Vincent Kompany after just 12 minutes of play.
Footage of the tackle in question against Nani does appear to show Kompany successfully winning the ball before catching the United winger. A decision is expected from the FA before Manchester City’s match against Liverpool this week.
